To our School Community and Friends,
As we all know, it’s an important time for education in our community and especially for Good Shepherd. Understanding our 40-year traditions providing independent and faith-based education in Marin, our special place in Novato and the many possibilities ahead, we have launched a strategic planning process to focus on the next five years within the context of our longer-term aspirations.
The planning process, which will be guided by the school’s leadership, will be informed by data and best practice and be a collaborative and inclusive activity across our school community. We have identified a Steering Committee who will coordinate the project, ensure that the plan is representative of our values and distinct characteristics and produces actionable results. Essential to our success will be the perspectives of parents, teachers, staff, the board and other members of our church and school community, who will help identify the priorities for our Good Shepherd educational experience.
We have engaged The Napa Group (www.napagroup.com), a consulting firm in Novato with a national reputation for their work in education and strategic planning. They have customized their 5-Phase Planning Process to ensure it is truly Good Shepherd’s.
Together we will ensure a bright, relevant and thriving teaching and learning environment at Good Shepherd.
Thank you in advance for your active participation in this process. We look forward to working together to advance the mission of our School.
Leigh Nicolaisen, School Board Chairperson
