7 Years Experience At School

This is Jordan Rugg’s third year at Good Shepherd.  Jordan graduated from Carroll College in Helena, Montana, with a B.A. in Secondary Education where he did the coursework to obtain a  CA Single Subject Teaching Credential in Social Science.  Jordan has just completed his second CA Single Subject Credential in Secondary Mathematics at Sonoma State.

For his first teaching assignment, Jordan ventured off to Greeley, Colorado where he taught at John Evans Middle School.  Before returning to California, Jordan taught abroad in Beijing, China.  Upon returning to the Marin area, he began substitute teaching which brought him to Good Shepherd Middle School.  His aptitude for teaching and love of the students was evident which led to Jordan becoming the full time math teacher.

Jordan loves teaching math to middle school students.  He enjoys seeing them succeed and in creating a positive outlook towards math.  In his words, “Math is the universal language of the universe.”  Jordan’s goal for all of his students is to be challenged at their individual level in math and to get them ready for high school, and beyond.

Jordan was born and raised in San Francisco.  He went to elementary school at St. Cecilia’s followed by high school as a Crusader at Archbishop Riordan High School.  On March 18, 2014, he married the love of his life, Nicole.  Together they live in Novato with a dog, Jackson, and cat, Kit-Kat.  Jordan enjoys reading, listening to music, board games, and escape rooms.
