Each week the preschool and elementary school attend a chapel service as part of their religious education. Each child may choose to bring a small donation to the service to contribute towards the annual chapel offering. Each year, chapel offerings go towards a non-profit organization. A few of the agencies we have worked with in the past are Navajo Lutheran Mission and School in Arizona, Queen Louise Children’s Home in the Virgin Islands, Heifer Project International, and Lutheran Schools in NYC whose children were affected by the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The goal for chapel donations is to give support to a facility or agency that touches the lives of children with the Gospel.
During the 2015-16 School Year, our students donated just under $2,520 through weekly chapel offering. Chapel offerings were split between two charities, Gilead House, a local transitional house for single mothers in need, and Agape International Missions, a faith based organization working in Cambodia to rescue children from trafficking.
