Tinker Tech Inventors and Coding
TinkerTech Inventors (Grades K – 2)
Students make a creative project every week in this dynamic and imaginative class. Exploring through STEAM and TinkerTech’s unique themed activities, participants will be inventing fun and hands-on tinkering projects for curious kids! Our students will enjoy project-based learning using a mix of low-tech maker materials and popular edtech tools such as LittleBits, CircuitCubes, Tinkering Labs and Lectrify.
Coding - Learn to Code in Swift! (Grades 3 - 5)
Here’s your chance to learn to code using Apple’s powerful programming language, Swift. Swift is designed to be easy to use and lets you see what you’re creating with code as you write it. In this class, students start with Swift Playgrounds on the iPad that teaches the fundamentals of programming. This class is great for newcomers and for students who have tinkered with code before (e.g. Scratch) and want to understand more about how it works so they can start building their own games and apps. This class will focus on children in grades 3-5 and have everyone progress at their own speed through the program with the teachers acting coaches/facilitators. Swift Playgrounds can also be used to program Dash and Dot and Lego Mindstorms EV3 robots making this class a fun and empowering introduction to code.
