Creating Foundations for Life

Welcome to GSLS

Welcome to Good Shepherd Lutheran School! If nothing else, the 21st century has taught us that we have no idea what the future holds. Think back to when you were in elementary school--could you have imagined the significant impact technology would play in your life today? How can we prepare our children for a future we cannot imagine?
At GSLS, we believe in a well-rounded education provided in a loving, Christian environment. What does that mean? That means:
Providing a relevant and rigorous curriculum in all core subjects
  • Providing technology, foreign language, art, music, and drama to all students
  • Teaching our children how to think and learn in an ever-changing world
  • Infusing a character-building program into our curriculum
  • Instilling life skills such as teamwork and conflict resolution
  • Fostering an environment where the students know that everyone is rooting for them to succeed
  • Teaching our children that God loves them
  • Preparing our students for high school and beyond in every way possible
We do this by making the students our number one priority. Every decision we make and every program we have must pass the litmus test of “Is this the best possible thing for our students?”
I invite you to witness the difference a well-rounded, student-centered education can make for your child. We may not know what the future holds, but we can prepare our students to have the confidence in themselves to handle whatever comes their way.

What is the function of education?

The function of education, therefore, is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. We must remember that intelligence is not enough. Intelligence plus character--that is the goal of true education. The complete education gives one not only power of concentration, but worthy objectives upon which to concentrate.-Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
